Digital video security camera systems are easy to install. In fact, it takes less than a few minutes to determine the system that's right for you, and have it installed in your home or business. Some government security camera systems take a little longer to install, as they tend to be more complicated, and tend to cover a much larger area. The great thing about digital video is the quality of the signal that is transmitted and recorded. Another great thing is variety of features available with digital video recorders, such as: High resolution Hard Disk Storage, Date/Time or Event or Segment search, built in multiplexer that allows simultaneous recording of multiple security cameras. Both of these factors provide you with a top of the line security camera system for protecting your property.

If I install a DVR card in a computer and want to add more cameras than what the card can support, can I add another card?

Yes, it is possible. Multiple DVR cards are supported. If you have the need of installing more cameras, another card may be added to your existing DVR system for additional camera ports. However, the upgradeability of the system depends on the initial configuration and how many available PCI/PCI-E port you have.

Why don't I need 30 fps video recording on all cameras?

If your total fps and hard disk could support it, you could set each camera to record at 30 fps. Please keep in mind that the more fps it records at, the bigger hard drive you will need. Video security systems are generally intended to capture images of intruders and crimal acts. A DVR does not have to record in movie quality in order to protect your properties.

How many days of recording can I store on my DVR?

It depends on how your hard drive's size, numbers of cameras and the recording quality (dynamic recording, alarm, continuously, etc.) and the compression of video. Generally, if you have 4 cameras recording at 30 fps, with motion detect recording on for 16 hours a day, 5 days a week, and running a resolution of 320x240 pixel with MPEG4 compression, it would approximately use 20 to 25GB of your hard disk space per week.

How far from the DVR can I place security cameras?

For RG59 Coaxial Cable, each CCTV security camera can be placed up to approximately 600 feet and up to 1,000 feet with RG6 Coax away from the DVR. In some cases, Baluns and CAT5 cable with corrected adapters could possibly reach 2,000 feet.

Cameras that are placed outdoor or facing outside will eventually have varying light conditions. When light levels change in the images captured by cameras, the recorded images will either be too bright or too dark, somtime even washed out or non-resolvable. Auto-iris lens provides a solution to these problems. These lenses have an electric motor-driven iris which is opened or closed according to signals fed to it from the camera. A camera equipped with auto-iris could produce a video signal of constant brightness by opening or closing the auto-iris of the lens when light level changes.

Yes you can, within the first 14 days, you can ship them back in original package and are in new condition. After 14 days, a 25% restocking fee will apply. Please note that you will be liable for the shipping charge in both ways. If you are unsure about which len to use, please feel free to call us.
